In his expertise, Dr Klaus Ertz dates the painting offered here to around 1610-1620 and points out that the figures were painted by Julian Teniers (1572-1615), the half-brother of David Teniers the Elder (1582-1649). Dr Ertz also assumes that Momper worked with Julian Teniers on the Tower of Babel in the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Belgique in Brussels (inv. no. 8032).
